In many places people become aware of the shortcomings of CVS and
switch to other version control systems. One very common alternative
these days seems to be svn (subversion), which is about as easy to
use as cvs. I think it would be worthwhile looking at the svn web
pages and reading its description. Of course, there are also other
alternatives, so please take this as a "by the way", not as an actual
recommendation.
