[News] Cactus Retreat Postponed 8-(

Hi,

it is with regret that I have decided to postpone the Cactus retreat I 
announced in December.  Unfortunately the press of other commitments has 
made it difficult for me to market it effectively, and, more importantly, 
to put in place a decent agenda.  As it stands at the moment I might be 
able to fill one day with tutorials and one day with talks; I don't 
think this would be sufficiently interesting to attract the sort of 
diverse participation I had hoped for.

I would like to apologise for this, and hope that this will not 
inconvenience anyone unduly;  given that I have also not had time to put 
out a formal announcement involving hotel, fee and other conference 
details, I am hoping that no-one has made irrevocable arrangements to come 
yet.

Once again, I'd like to apologise.  I do still intend to hold a second 
Cactus retreat at some point in the next year, but will not start 
arrangements for that until I am certain of more details and can 
reasonably guarantee that the meeting will be worthwhile.
