Development Projects: Computer Science
Here we list some of the research projects taking place
which are either focused on developing and enhancing
the Cactus Code, or are using Cactus as an application
for the development of external tools leading indirectly
to improvements to code enhancements.
Cactus Team
The Cactus
Team,
based at the Albert Einstein Institute in Germany,
is developing Cactus infrastructure in coordination
with the projects listed here.
Gigabit Project
The Gigabit Project
in Germany is focused on
developing remote and distributed visualization for applications.
Distributed Simulations Project
Researchers at the Albert Einstein Institute, along
with colleagues from Argonne National Laboratory and
the University of Chicago, are using Cactus for
performing
distributed simulations
across heterogeneous machines.
Astrophysics Simulation Collaboratory
The Astrophysics Simulation
Collaboratory
(ASC) in the USA is developing collaboration tools, such as
web portals, and code infrastructure such as AMR for large
scale astrophysics simulations.
EGrid Applications and Testbeds Working Group
The European
Grid Forum (E-Grid) is using Cactus as
an application for developing Europe-wide
capabilities for accessible
and routine distributed computing.
Grid Adaptive Development Systems
The Grid Adaptive
Development Systems
project in the USA is building protocols and capabilities for
using the newly emerging global "Grid".
