Development

Cactus is being developed and extended through numerous projects some of which are described here.

Parallel Drivers and Adaptive Mesh Refinement

XiRel Focusing on numerical relativity applications, the XiRel project funded by NSF is improving and optimizing the Carpet driver layer, and investigating other AMR libraries to prepare for petascale platforms.
CyberTools The NSF funded CyberTools project involves several research institutions in Louisiana in developing new application enabling cyberinfrastructure. Through this project a CFD toolkit will be developed for Cactus, including a driver layer supporting unstructured meshes.

Tools

ALPACA The ALPACA project funded by NSF is developing tools for application level performance profiling and debugging. As part of the ALPACA project, in collaboration with the Blue Waters consortium, we are integrating Cactus into the Eclipse environment.

Applications

COMI The COMI project, funded by ONR, is developing a coastal modeling infrastucture based on Cactus
UCOMSA new ``black oil'' code for high throughput reservoir simulations is being developed in Cactus.
